Glued: Keep AirPods on Mac while audio plays
Glued is designed to solve the one-way AirPods connection issue between macOS and iOS devices.
You watch something on your Mac with AirPods.
You switch to your iPhone — AirPods switch automatically.
But when you go back to your Mac, they don’t.
You have to reconnect AirPods to Mac manually...
Glued is for you if:
- You’re tired of manually reconnecting AirPods in Bluetooth settings
- Auto‑switch works one way, but not when you come back to your Mac
- You just want AirPods to stay on your Mac while you’re actually using it
Glued is a tiny macOS menu bar app that keeps your AirPods (AirPods Pro, AirPods Max) on your Mac while audio is playing, and lets macOS auto‑switch normally when audio stops.
How to Use
- Download the
Glued 1.0.dmgand install it on your Mac - Open
Glued.app(it lives in the menu bar) — macOS will prompt you for Bluetooth access — please allow it. - Connect your AirPods and select them in Glued
That’s it — Glued runs quietly in the menu bar.
How It Works
Glued monitors whether audio is actively playing on your Mac.
- When audio starts playing → Glued keeps your chosen Bluetooth device connected
- When audio stops → Glued does nothing and allows Apple’s auto‑switching to work as usual
You stay in control — without fighting the system.
Glued does not collect data, track devices, or communicate over the network.
Compatable with MacOs Ventura(13.0) and above.
No more manual AirPods reconnecting — just play and listen.
